Going Beyond GoogleApps with GoogleApps Marketplace
The Google Apps Marketplace makes it easy to extend Google Apps to meet more of your business’s needs. With just a few clicks, you can discover, purchase and deploy web applications from numerous vendors that integrate with Google Apps. Computer Doctors of Maine, Inc., can assist you in selecting and implementing these web applications.
Integrated apps, available in the Google Apps Marketplace, are web-based applications built by Independent Software Developers (ISVs) that connect with Google Apps. Google Apps administrators can install integrated apps on their domains and manage them from the Google Apps control panel. Once installed, integrated apps are accessible to users from Google’s universal navigation bar – the links that a user sees at the top of any Google Apps page – and don’t require additional logins. Upon administrator approval, some integrated apps may also read and write data to Gmail, Calendar, Docs and other Google Apps products via Google Data APIs.
Integrated apps enable Google Apps users to be more efficient by leveraging existing Google Apps information, like contacts, calendar availability, and documents across multiple applications. For example, users can share their Gmail contacts with their CRM software to more easily track prospects, do sophisticated image editing right from the browser and share output via Google Docs, and automatically sync due dates from their project management app with Google Calendar. In short, integrated apps allow Google Apps customers to bring the scale and efficiency of cloud computing to more of their business processes.
